Six signs you’re our kind of vintage lover:

1
You cannot walk past an old book without opening it.
Foxed pages, a faded inscription, someone’s pressed flower from 1912. You’ve bought books you’ll never read for the endpapers alone.
2
You’d move into a Jane Austen novel if they’d let you.
Or Cranford, or Downton Abbey, or Bridgerton. Anything with a hallway you’d like to walk down and a table set properly. You’ve watched the 1995 Pride and Prejudice more times than you’ll admit.
3
You prefer things a bit battered.
A tea stain, a torn corner, a pencil note in the margin, a dog-eared page that got opened a hundred times. Pristine is fine. Used is better — it means somebody loved it first.
4
You keep old treasures.
You keep a drawer of bits. A length of old silk ribbon. Handmade lace. A scrap of toile. Buttons off something that fell apart. You have no plan for ay of it and you’re not getting rid of it either.
5
You’d rather be making.
You have the supplies and the ideas. What you want is to sit down and start, without spending the first hour searching.
6
You’d like creative company.
Making things alone is lovely. Making them alongside other women who love all of the above is better.

We met in an old general store...

I was an antique dealer for twenty years — furniture, old china, textiles, old books and more. Emily was a also a dealer, specializing in antique prints and artwork. We were both selling out of the same shop, The Old Lucketts Store in Virginia. It didn't take long before we found out that we were both paper hoarders! Old Prints, rolls of old wallpaper, the letters and ledgers and labels nobody else wanted.
Some of the very first images I ever scanned came out of an 1880s scrap album that belonged to my great-grandmother.
Fast forward to today, we still get excited when we find these same things and we still have the same slight problem with old paper.

Our Pixie-up Process
1
Discover
We spend hours and hours searching through our own collections, purchased over the years from rare bookshops in Europe, local antique shops & ephemera dealers, as well as archived sources.
2
Select
Items are evaluated as a group, with special attention to quality, style, and color, resulting in a cohesive collection. This process takes hours to create the perfect bundle combination.
3
Scan
Pictures are scanned using specialized scanning equipment, so you get high quality designs, every time.
4
Clean
We clean and polish images digitally so they're gleaming and perfect for use. This includes repairing damaged images, adjusting colors, and creating multiple file formats. This process could take from an hour to nearly a full day per image.
5
Organize
The Graphics Fairy team carefully curates images in themed bundles & places each one on the Membership Site so you can access the bundles from home.
6
Teach
Our professional crafters and designers will open up new doors and show you how to use your vintage images in fresh and inspiring ways.

Paper to Build on. Pieces to Build with.
Start with the papers. Foxed, folded, water-stained, dog-eared, with somebody’s pencil note still in the margin. Ledger pages, letters, music, book pages, wallpapers. These are the ones our members reach for most, and they’re what a page gets built on.
Select pieces to lay over them. Flowers, labels, postcards, ornaments, cut out cleanly on transparent backgrounds so they overlay straight onto whatever you like.

Ephemera means things that were never meant to survive.
A receipt. A ticket. A page from a shop’s ledger. A letter someone posted in 1890 that someone kept.
None of it was made to last. All of it is here anyway, distressed with the perfect aged patina.
A few times a year we release a collection of antique French ephemera, bought from dealers in France. Real documents, real French, really old. They’re some of the most-loved collections we make.
